Madonna Jarrett

Madonna Jarrett will be a strong local voice for the people of Brisbane, being born and raised in Paddington. She now lives in Ashgrove with her husband John and twin boys. Madonna started her career in health and for the past 25 years she has worked in the private sector focusing on policies for women’s economic development and youth progress in collaboration with organisations across the globe.

Although she was one of eight siblings living in a small workers cottage in Paddington, her childhood house also provided a home for a number of foster kids who had nowhere to go. She now sees young people like her sons facing the very real issues of cost of living and affordable housing. Madonna also volunteers for an organisation who works to support those who are at risk of experiencing homelessness. She sees firsthand the importance of addressing these issues and providing a safe and secure home.

Madonna cares about the future of her children and theirs, and believes that climate change is something we will only get one chance to fix; that we need an approach that is considered, ambitious, realistic and effective.

That’s why she’s proud to be running as part of Anthony Albanese’s team that made a record investment in housing and renewable energy.
