Neil Wallace
Neil Wallace and his wife have lived in Mackay for the last 17 years, where they have raised their three children.
Neil loves this community, which is why he has been deeply involved in community service, particularly as a three-time President of the North Mackay Rotary Club. Over four decades in the private sector have taught him the value of hard work – which is why he doesn’t want to see the local community being taken for granted by the LNP anymore.
The world has thrown many challenges at Australia over the past few years. Things are still tough, but Labor is working to make life easier for everyone.
Labor’s number one priority has been delivering cost of living relief with bigger tax cuts for every taxpayer, 20% off student debt, energy bill relief, cheaper childcare, strengthening Medicare, and cheaper medicines.
Three years on, inflation is down, wages are moving again, and interest rates are falling. As the local representative, Neil will fight for more investment in local health services, more skills and training to support local jobs, and getting more housing built so that locals can access affordable and reliable housing.
