How much does membership cost?

To join the party, membership costs 50 cents per month for your first 12 months of membership via direct debit, or $25 via upfront annual payment.

After your first year, your membership cost depends on your annual income. A detailed list of current membership fees is available here.

How old do I have to be to become a member?

People can join the party from 14 years of age.

I’m not an Australian Citizen. Can I still join the party?

Anyone who is a resident of Queensland may join the party – however non-citizens will not be able to run or vote in pre-selections for public office.

I’m a member of the Labor party in a different state of Australia and have now moved to Queensland. How do I transfer my membership?

You should get in contact with our office to transfer your membership from interstate. We will need your contact details and your membership number from the state you are transferring from.

Am I a member? I joined online/sent in a form and haven’t heard anything!

Your membership application needs to go to the Administrative Committee, which meets once a month (except January). Once the Administrative Committee have ratified your membership, you will hear from us to confirm your membership of the party.

How do I log into the members only area?

If you have not created your Queensland Labor Member account, you can do it here with the email and mobile number you provided in your membership application.

If you already have an account, you can log in here.

Party Office cannot see or set your password.

If you do not know your password, you can use the Forgot password link to reset it. This will send you an email with a link to allow you to set your password.

The email address for your account is the email address Party Office has on file. During the password reset process, if you are advised the email address you are using is not the one we have on file, please contact Party Office so we can change the email associated with your membership.
