Maurie Soars is Labor’s local candidate for Hinchinbrook.

He has lived in the Hinchinbrook electorate for more than 30 years and has a proud track record of community service.

As a former business owner, Councillor and sports administrator, Maurie is passionate about delivering better local services and fighting for Hinchinbrook’s fair share.

He wants to be part of a team that will fight for and deliver for Hinchinbrook — a team that will invest in local infrastructure like the Bruce Highway, provide affordable local health care, and help with the cost of living.

After just one year of the Crisafulli LNP Government, the Townsville Hospital expansion has been delayed, ambulance ramping and hospital wait times have worsened, and cost of living support has been cut.

It’s never been more important for Hinchinbrook to have a proven local voice who will fight for the community’s fair share and hold the Crisafulli LNP Government accountable for its broken promises.
