Samantha Dendle

2024 Banana Shire Young Australian of the Year, Samantha Dendle is the fresh new approach Callide needs for the region. A born and bred Central Queenslander, she knows the importance that Labor Governments play in delivering for the regions.

Samantha is dedicated to creating a fairer and more inclusive future for all in the Central Queensland community and wants to deliver cost of living relief, quality healthcare closer to home and better jobs as part of the Labor team.

Through its landmark energy and jobs plan, the Miles Labor Government is backing local workers.  The jobs guarantee ensures that workers at Callide Power Station can transition into clean energy jobs of the future which is something that Samantha will advocate for.

A true advocate for youth development, she knows clean and secure jobs will see the community thrive as it grows. Elected as Deputy Premier of the YMCA’s Queensland Youth Parliament in 2023, Samantha has the nous to get the Callide community on the map in Brisbane.

With a growing community, Samantha says she will fight for education and health care and says Labor is on the right track with the investment of $3.5 million to refresh the hospital and support contemporary models of care in Chinchilla. This is part of the Miles Labor Government’s commitment to deliver world class health care closer to home.

Unlike the LNP who when they were last in government sacked Queensland health heroes.
