Shireen Casey

As a lawyer, teacher and former police officer, Shireen Casey knows the importance of listening to and serving the community.

Shireen understands the importance of quality public services and community safety. Her experience as a teacher and a General Duties police officer has given her firsthand insight into the challenges faced by Queensland law enforcement. She believes in the power of combining law enforcement with education and early intervention to create a safer community and provide opportunities for vulnerable youth.

As a mother of teenage sons, she understands the pressures on families and knows that only a Labor Government will deliver real cost-of-living relief, like the $1,000 energy rebate for every Queensland family and 20% off car rego. As an educator, Shireen understands the importance of programs like Free TAFE and Free Kindy, giving more Queenslanders the chance to get ahead. Shireen is excited to join the Miles Labor team to continue to deliver essential cost-of-living relief to ease the pressure on families and to protect our essential services.
