SIGN NOW: Fix Beams Road!
Bart Mellish, the Member for Aspley and the community calls for all levels of Government to invest in upgrading the rail level crossing on Beams Road. The congestion issues on the road are negatively impacting the lives of locals across our community with substantial delays at the boom gates for motorists.
After listening to the concerns of locals, at the last election the Palaszczuk Government committed $400,000 for a study to investigate the feasibility of an overpass at Beams Road level crossing. The feasibility study is now complete and the project is moving into pre-construction works, with $5 million allocated from the most recent State budget.
It can be frustrating for commuters sitting in traffic when the boom gates are down. The project is moving forward, but we still need commitments from all levels of government to fully fund the project. Whether it is the Lord Mayor, the Premier or the Prime Minister, we need all of them to get on board to make this a reality.
