Julieanne is a fifth generation Mackay local – she and her husband Frank currently live in East Mackay. As the mother of one daughter and two stepsons, as well as a grandmother of three, Julieanne understands the importance of education in making sure our young people get the best start in life.
As a former primary school teacher and as an Organiser for the Qld Teachers Union, Julieanne has devoted much of her working life to our education sector and to our young people. She is particularly passionate about ensuring that all children, whatever their circumstances, are afforded the opportunity to realise their full potential.
Julieanne has seen Mackay through many economic ups and downs and understands the importance of making sure that local jobs are sustainable and secure. Julieanne has been and will continue to ensure that Mackay’s key industries – agriculture, the resources sector, sugar and tourism will grow, modernise and diversity to support our local jobs and provide a future for our kids.
