Mark O’Brien is a business owner with experience in both small and international commerce. He moved to Charleville in 1986 and has been based there ever since at the helm of a distribution business employing 20 people.
Participation in the community has always been a strong feature of Mark’s life and this includes 8 years as Mayor of Murweh Shire, experience as a Local Government Grants Commissioner, the inaugural Chair of the Save the Bilby Fund Ltd, Chair of Natural Resource Management companies, Wild Dog Fence Commissioner and Qld Drought Commissioner.
Mark’s vast experience in representing his community and his understanding of business across both regional and rural Queensland, means he is best placed to represent the Warrego electorate under a strong and stable Palaszczuk Labor Government.
Not afraid to take up the issues of regional and remote communities to politicians, Mark would make a strong representation to attract local jobs by supporting small business, rebuilding manufacturing and investing in our regions.
