Joel grew up outside the country town of Childers, the son of a farmer. After leaving school, he joined the Australian Army. Having served full-time for eight years he left the army with a strong sense of duty and a willingness to serve.
Joel moved to Goondiwindi in 2014 where he is a proud and dedicated healthcare worker at Darling Downs Health. He knows firsthand the importance of access to healthcare for rural Queensland.
Joel is an active member of his local community through his work as Board Chair of the local disability and community support organization Care Goondiwindi as well as being active in Inglewood and Texas Landcare and Warwick Chamber of Commerce.
As an active member of the community who lives and works locally, Joel will stand up for Southern Downs and the rural way of life— he will fight for better local jobs, protecting frontline health services and for strong investment in infrastructure, roads and rail.
