It's time for a fresh start for Dawson. Shane is a lifelong local, having grown up in Sarina and Mackay, and his family connections to the region go back three generations.
As a Project Manager in Coal mining maintenance, Shane understands how vital our resources industry is for jobs and for the entire region’s economy. And like many people in Dawson, Shane has worked hard with his wife Anita a local school teacher to build a life in our community with their three beautiful children.
Shane will be a strong voice for workers: fighting for secure jobs in our region and to end rampant casualisation in the mining industry and all industries. With Albo, Shane will bring back local manufacturing to Regional Queensland, to create a strong industry with secure jobs for locals well into the future.
Scott Morrison and the Federal LNP have no plans to grow jobs for our region now and into the future. George Christensen has taken the electorate for granted, focussing too much on starting culture wars rather than delivering for Dawson. Christensen has failed to protect workers from casualisation, instead voting for laws making it harder for casuals to get secure full-time work.
Shane understands that our aged-care system is broken, and our health care system is in crisis. Morrison and the Liberals have failed to provide the funding and resources our aged and health care systems require so that everyone can live a healthy and dignified life. Shane will fight for our community, and our seniors, to get the care they deserve.
Shane wants to ensure families are given a fair go. A full time job should pay the bills. Under Labor and Shane, more families will be able to access cheaper childcare.
The residents of Dawson need a worker in Canberra, who understand their needs firsthand and who will fight for jobs for Regional Queensland. It's time for a fresh start for Dawson. Shane Hamilton is on your side.
