Penny O’Neill is the Labor Candidate for Chandler in the Brisbane City Council 2020 Election.
Penny was born and bred in the area and has lived in Gumdale with her family for over 20 years. Her father was the local vet and a long-time friend of Clem Jones, and this association gave Penny an appreciation of local government while growing up.
Penny began her working life as a nurse before moving into Customs, Accounting and Administration. Penny has worked for world renowned corporate firms and now manages her own consulting company.
Penny is passionate about real representation and transparent administration. With her experience across the corporate world she understands the importance of sound budget management and will bring her knowledge and experience to a Labor led Council.
Penny knows that Chandler residents are frustrated that for almost 20 years they have been taken for granted. They have seen constant rate rises; local roads, parks and footpaths neglected while millions of dollars are spent on rorts, glossy ads and personal expense accounts. Penny thinks Chandler deserves better. She believes its time to put residents back at the heart of Council.
