John Prescott grew up and went to school in Runcorn, so knows the area is a great place to live and work and appreciates everything it has to offer. He is deeply passionate about the area and its people.
As a social worker, John has a strong commitment to social justice and equality. He has worked with the most vulnerable people in our community and know the struggles they face. His mother, who still lives in the area, raised 4 children by herself. She worked hard to give John opportunities to have a great education and to contribute to the community. John received a university scholarship, enabling him to study in Taiwan and become fluent in Mandarin.
As a true local, John has experienced the rapid changes in the community first-hand. He is very involved and has strong connections across the community including the local Pinelands Lions Club, the Australian of Chinese Heritage War Memorial Committee, Australia China Cultural and Economic Promotion Association Inc. local P&Cs and World Arts and Multicultural Inc.
John believes the Runcorn Ward has been taken for granted and he will fight to make sure our community gets its fair share.
