Mark Wolhuter
Labor Candidate for McDowall
Mark grew up in Rockhampton before moving to the great city of Brisbane in 2009. His parents both emigrated from overseas and exemplify the success story of many migrants who now call Australia home.
Since making his home in north Brisbane, Mark has discovered how passionate and friendly the local community has been, throughout both his educational and professional endeavours. Mark constantly strives to be more involved in community activities as he believes the strength of a local community rests on the compassionate actions of its members.
Before running for McDowall Ward, Mark has worked many different jobs in the private sector, and has been involved in a number of volunteer placements. From working in hospitality to serving as an education officer informing employees about their tax rights under salary packaging schemes, Mark has a breadth of experience. He also regularly volunteers with the Eddie’s Van charity, to give back to his local community.
Mark enjoys working to help his community, whether that’s through supporting workers to earn more, or helping disadvantaged people to feel safer – this is why Mark wants to represent our local community in city council. Mark will stand up for the suburbs in McDowall Ward, fighting to make housing more affordable, support local jobs, and create a more connected community.
