Jim Dawson
Jim Dawson has chosen to live in Kawana on the Sunshine Coast because of the idyllic lifestyle and natural wonders. As a Currimundi local, Jim enjoys the community nature of Currimundi and Kawana.
As a dad and former Senior Policy Maker for the Australian Government, Jim knows budgets and understands how the Miles Labor Government’s cost of living relief initiatives – like 50 cent fares to 20% off car rego – has allowed Kawana families to enjoy the Sunshine Coast while saving money.
Jim’s experience is in policy and government, so he has seen firsthand the impact good governments can have on the community. That’s why he put his hand up to be on the Queensland Labor team because he knows the Miles Labor Government is doing what matters for Queensland, especially in communities like Kawana.
Accessing health services closer to home create healthier families and stronger communities, so the commitment by Premier Steven Miles to build the Sunshine Coast Satellite Hospital will be a real game changer for the region – a health commitment at risk under the LNP.
As a cancer survivor, Jim has personal experience of how important it is to resource Queensland’s public health system. He knows only Labor invests in health services, and infrastructure that allow locals to receive much needed healthcare close to family and loved ones when the time comes.
He knows all of this is at risk under the LNP who have no plan other than to sack health heroes, and no vision for the health and wellbeing of the Kawana community, and for the broader Sunshine Coast.
