Former Army Captain Jason Scanes will always put the needs of others before his own, to deliver a better future for the people of Hinkler.
At age 18, Jason enlisted in the Regular Army and rose through the ranks from Digger to Captain, receiving numerous awards, most notably the Army Commendation Medal from the United States Government.
Jason is a Fellow of the Institute of Managers and Leaders and continues to actively serve our community including as a member of the QLD Premier’s Wide Bay Burnett Fraser Coast Regional Community Forum Group, Patron for TS Maryborough Navy Cadets, Veteran Advocate and Ambassador to the ‘Aussie Vets for PTSD’ charity.
His dedication and service within our community means he understands the importance of earning a fair day’s wage, delivering proper funding for our hospitals and schools and creating secure local jobs.
Unfortunately, the do-nothing Morrison Government goes missing in times of crisis, blaming others and failing to plan ahead. Jason has witnessed many in our community being left behind under this government and knows we can’t risk three more years of inaction by the Morrison Government.
Jason will ensure our community emerges stronger from COVID-19 to ensure a better future for us all.
